MANAMA. “The Man” is a retrospective on Jaffar Al Oraibi’s artistic and conceptual development.
It is an investigation on the struggles, dilemma’s and the constant mind battle of human
beings and is a specific exploration on the artists’ perception on these issues. His works resemble individual brainstorms that try to branch out the many notions Al Oraibi has on topics such as love, sexual desires and fear. “The Man” is a series of different
interpretations and perceptions Al Oraibi has unfolded throughout his artistic process and is a presentation of the many notions and answers he has encountered through his journey.
Paintings were chosen based on their approaches to the strong subject matters Al Oraibi has been investigating and were carefully curated to ensure the coherency of his research findings.

About JAFFAR AL ORAIBI
Jaffar Al Oraibi is a Member of the Bahrain Arts Society. Al Oraibi is an Abstract Expressionist painter who works with modern abstract terms, he works with different emotions in the painting which create an unusual dialogue with the viewer and raise a lot of questions. Al Oraibi works of art is based on purely abstract and rarely portraits as psychological plays a major role in his art. Al Oraibi was formerly President of the Fine Arts Club at the University of Bahrain and is currently a very active figure in the contemporary Bahraini art scene.
