About Abbas Yousif

Born in 1960 in Bahrain, got his B.S. in Arabic Literature at the University of Qatar in 1982. He has three solo exhibitions (2005 - Cultural Foundation - Abu Dhabi, U.A.E, 2002 - Al Bareh Art Gallery, Bahrain, 1994 - The Bahrain Arts Society, Bahrain).Also a couple of two man-shows with Jabbar Al Ghadban along the years since 1995 until 2004 in several international galleries in such countries as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Syria, England & Denmark.

Abbas has a various number of international group exhibitions including biennials & triennials since 1993 until 2005, such as: 3rd Bahraini Artist at Gezira Art Center in Cairo, Egypt - 3rd International Small Engraving Exhibition in Cermona, Italy - Bahrain Contemporary Art Exhibition in Beijing, China - Gallery am berg Kongislutter, Germany - 3rd Printmaking Festival, Evora, Portugal - The 3rd International Ex-Libris Exhibition, Croatia - Graphic & Art Workshop in Oslo - " Dar Al Funoon" Safat, Kuwait - International Art Project 2000, Germany - 19th Mini Print International de Cadaques, Spain - Portland Art Museum International Print Exhibition, Portland, Oregon, USA - International Print Exhibition Miniature 8, Frederikstad, Norway - International Mini-print Exhibition, Belgrade - The First International Print Biennial, Maastricht, the Netherlands - 1st Egyptian International Triennial, Cairo, Egypt.

He has some works at museums and public show collections, such as The National museum of Sharjah, UAE - The National Council for Culture, arts & Literature, Kuwait City, Kuwait - National Museum of Jordan, Amman - Arabian Contemporary Art Museum, Doha, Qatar - Kufa Gallery, London, England - National Museum, Damascus, Syria - Museum "4th Block” Kharkiv, Ukraine - Royal Fine Arts Society, Amman, Jordan - Musco de Arte Moderno, Barcelona, Spain - Bahrain national museum, Manama, Bahrain.

The artist has been awarded a couple of international awards over the years, such as the 1st Prize in Graphic at the 2nd Calligraphy biennial of The Islamic World (Graphics section), Tehran in 2002 and in 2000 he attained a Merit award at the first painting biennial in Islamic World, Tehran, Iran.
