FONDATION PIERRE GIANADDA
MONET
AU MUSÉE MARMOTTAN ET DANS LES COLLECTIONS SUISSES
Fondation Pierre Gianadda
Martigny, Suisse
17 June – 20 November
This summer, Fondation Pierre Gianadda will showcase seventy paintings by Claude Monet highlighting the main themes of the artist including Argenteuil Vetheuil, Holland, Haystacks, Rouen Cathedral, London Bordighera, Poplars, Water Lilies, the Japanese Bridge. The painter has, throughout his career, had the desire to capture reality in its most fleeting vibration, in a powerful hymn to light and color - subtle chromatic variations demanding an invitation to share the study of immaterial nature.

The exhibition will offer visitors a walk on his favorite places, the River Seine, the coast of Normandy, Brittany to Italy and of course, Thebaid Giverny.

On loan from the Historical Museum Marmottan Monet in Paris and from the prestigious private collections and major museums in Switzerland, this exhibition will offer the public a journey where reality is reconstructed from the endless keys of light vibration on nature and landscapes.

In addition, a selection of some forty Japanese prints of the artist's personal collection, on loan from the Foundation Claude Monet in Giverny will be presented for the first time in Switzerland.
