Died in 2005 at the age of 61, Jean-Pierre Pincemin probably one of the largest French abstract painters of his generation.
Self-taught, Pincemin discovered painting by visiting museums; encouraged by the art dealer Jean Fournier, he made his first
pictorial works by increasing searches: folding, prints, screens and launches in the early 70s in the "square-pasted" and then joined the movement supports surfaces.
In the 80s, the artist decides to "scan all and assimilate everything" and moving towards the
representation: to the image and the subject. It is based on fables of the Middle Ages, of Christian
imagery or Japanese prints. The discovery of aquatint in 1988 allowed him a large flexibility in
implementation and greater freedom of creation. By bringing together representative works of
Jean-Pierre Pincemin, this book helps to understand a rich work, varied and demanding.
