PARIS. DÉCOR & INSTALLATIONS is a trans-generational exhibition. It combines artists from the French art scene, whose international cursus is based on an original experience of artistic creativity. They are the authors of cartoons, tapestries, carpets and lace, carried out within a refined and erudite manner by the Gobelins’ weavers from Beauvais and La Savonnairie or in lace-making workshops in Le Puy and Alencon.

Twenty-six creations led to the undertaking of a project based on the installations principle, twisting the furnishing mission towards an exhibition approach. It is one and the same exhibition occurring in two sites: in the galerie des Gobelins in Paris and in the Galerie Nationale de la Tapisserie in Beauvais.

The layout was carried out by the designer Frédéric Ruyant.

Décor & installations seeks to explore by repositioning the manufacturese creations within the oversall context, the relationaship between, on the one hand the artisans’ skills and creativity and on the other hand, decorative and contemporary art forms.
