An Angel's Pillow is a critical attempt to reflect on the art world as one of the most important symbols of the eighties generation of art in Iraq. A generation that has witnessed two wars and carried its effects from reality to the art and was able to enrich the strong art march experiences in Iraq by a number of its artists.
The author says in his evaluation of the painter's art books:
"His books are burned and chained manuscripts and is a clear metaphor from what was experienced by the capital of the Abbasi after the American occupation in 2003"
On the day when the libraries were burned the ancient Arabic manuscripts were looted to disappear forever, barbed wires restrict those burned manuscripts, captive even after they were fired, exiled from the desire of being a pity subject and a copy of the frequent exile whom Iraqis becoming engrossed in discovering its details.
Artist Ghassan Ghaib (b 1964) studied art in Baghdad. He had three solo exhibitions in Amman, where he lives and work for some years.
In 260 color pages, An Angel's Pillow is the fifth published art critical book by Farouk Yousif after (drawing masks), (amulets isolation), (biography of the invisible of drawing) and (Mohamed Jaloos- Thirty years of paintings).
