ART IN IRAQ TODAY: CONCLUSION

MEEM GALLERY EXHIBITS THE WORK OF CONTEMPORARY IRAQI ARTISTS

Meem Gallery is pleased to present the conclusion show of the Art in Iraq Today exhibition series.
The exhibition will include selected works by the artists displayed during Parts I - V of the series (held from October 2010 - May 2011). The show, curated by Dia Al-Azzawi and Charles Pocock, and its supporting publication, is dedicated to the memory of Jabra Ibrahim Jabra and his seminal essays on modern Iraqi art, titled ‘Art in Iraq Today.’ A group show of the artists’ work will also open at the Beirut Exhibition Center on 23 November (organised by Solidere, Meem Galley and Rula Alami Zaki).

A four-artist Invitational Exhibition opened at the Art Association of Harrisburg
with a meet-the-artist reception on Friday, October 21. Featured in the exhibition are “Transformations” artwork by digital artist Eric Olson. The three other artists showing works are oil landscape painters Carol Herr of Quarryville, Martin M. Pieczonka of Phoenixville, and artist Brooke Schmidt of
Wyndmoor. The exhibition will remain open to the public until November 23, 2011.
