Bénédicte Gimonnet was born in Clermont-Ferrand, France and has been working in Abu Dhabi since September 2009. She studied Fine Art in London for 6 years and obtained in 2006 her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Fine Art Painting at the Wimbledon College of Art.
With a particular interest in the aesthetics of the sublime, Bénédicte started to work in London with a large variety of techniques and materials. She created her own pictorial world drawing inspiration from her journeys and personal memories. Her work is concerned with abstract organic forms using a colorful and contrasted palette, achieving a sense of luminosity and illusion of space.
A number of Bénédicte Gimonnet's paintings have been acquired by private collectors and firms across the world. Her work has been showcased on an international level and lately at the UAE Ministry of Culture, under the patronage of H.E. Alain Azouaou, Ambassador of France to the UAE.
