Djurgården Christer Lundin - Stockholm Visitors Board
Stockholm based Finnish artist, Harri Monni known for his vibrant collagen based abstract paintings shares his little black book on...

What is the best thing about Stockholm?

The sense of space and nature makes it perfect for my profession.  As an artist, the vibrant art scene and the naturally green environment inspire, energize, relax and connect me to the world.  Stockholm is a fusion of all aesthetic disciplines. Design, fine art, architecture, fashion, food and music…are in dialogue …it’s a great quality of life.

What are your favourite art museums, galleries and places of cultural interest?

I like the Modern Museum and galleries like Angelika Knäpper Gallery (where I exhibit), also Milliken Gallery AB, Gallery Lars Bohman AB, Gallery Stefan Anderson, Galleri Flach Thulin, and Gallery Charlotte Lund AB.

How would you pass a perfect day in Stockholm?

A perfect day for me is to start with breakfast in my studio and work there until the evening and then go out with my friends to a restaurant or an exhibition opening and then maybe a drink somewhere.

Which are you favourite restaurants?

Recently, I have been going to a Asian restaurants like the Chinese restaurant HO`s. I also like many Thai food restaurants. But restaurant Operakallarens Bakficka, for home style Swedish food is always nice.

What is the one thing you’d like to do in Stockholm that you haven’t done?

There are lots of things that I want to do but haven’t done yet. The archipelago of Stockholm is very beautiful and I haven’t explored it really. But when I have visitors from abroad, I sometimes take them to a boat trip to view Swedish seascapes and have dinner on the boat.

Where do you like to go to escape the city?

I like to jog around Djurgården. It has a beautiful nature area, a spot where you can take a stroll along the canals.

What is your favourite view in Stockholm?

It is hard to pick only one view because there are many, but I like to see the city when it wakes up in the morning and the sun rises and lights up the old town and people are going to their jobs.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently working on a new series of paintings that are based on a visual theme of divided spaces, where I try to investigate and make visual the concept of absence and the present.
