MANAMA. HRH QUEEN Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa inaugurated Mariam Ali Bin Yousif Fakhro’s one- woman- show entitled Longing for Places at The Art Centre which opened on 11 April. Her Royal Highness was welcomed by Ms Fakhro together with HE Shaikha May bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture and HE Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Immigration, Passports and Nationality.
"The generous presence of Her Royal Highness dramatically underscores the importance of art collection, culturally and aesthetically - celebrating the lives and talents of the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain through the dignity of art."
The morning opening by Her Royal Highness was attended by a large crowd of ladies who had the firsthand view of the artist’s first solo exhibition which showcased her recent works of oil on canvas paintings. The exhibition, organised by the Bahrain Art Society ran until 18 April.
