Reviews
In the next issue of ArtBahrain, Laura Stewart talks to Leila Heller, the dynamic dealer of Middle Eastern art based in New York City. The chic and savvy Heller has two galleries -- one in Manhattan’s tony Upper East Side -- and one recently opened for more cutting-edge work in Chelsea. Heller, who has been way ahead of the curve, showing art from the GCC region in NY since 1982, has become the international doyenne of the high-end marketing of art from the ME.NA.SA region.
Also interviews the San Francisco dealer, Wendy Norris, of the San Francisco contemporary and modern art gallery, Frey Norris. Norris, who has a background in technology and finance, teamed up with art-dealing partner Ramen Frey in 2003, and the duo have had great success scouring the world for talent and clients.
